As an art student I had to have slides taken of my artwork. When I started making quilts I had to 'teach' the photographer how to handle them. From there I learned to love his power air gun to remove stray threads, and he offered me a free session in return for sewing a large black velvet backdrop for him. He now has his 'favorite' quilts and blocks, as well as knowing to fold tops with the seams on the outside.
For more great quilting tips, visit www.TopQuiltersTips.com

Once I have finished a top , I press it really well then hang it on a hanger until I finish the back. that way I get less wrinkles and do not have to repress to finish layering it.
For more great quilting tips, visit www.TopQuiltersTips.com

I love to use empty tissue boxes around my sewing area. The long boxes I use to hold the threads and various sewing supplies while I work on a particular project. The opening is even large enough for my small piecing projects. Nothing dissapears! I often use the smaller boutique tissue boxes for a small catch-all for my threads and scraps as I trim in either quilting or garment construction. It all helps to keep the sewing area neat and projects go more smoothly....they are pretty too!!
For more great quilting tips, visit www.TopQuiltersTips.com
